The cause of hyperuricemia is more, it is divided into three categories as follows:
+ Primary gout (mostly encountered this type): This type is usually
familial factors, onset is usually caused by eating too many foods
containing purines's often accompanied by drinking too much alcohol. Common mainly in middle-aged men and few women in the postmenopausal age.
+ Secondary gout: As a result of hyperuricemia due to excessive cell
targets (myelogenous leukemia, chronic hemolytic anemia, extensive
psoriasis ...) or renal failure.
+ Gout due to abnormal enzymes: Due to shortage of fully or partially
HGPRT enzyme, an enzyme involved in the Preparation of uric acid, which
causes gout onset in children (very severe and rare).
Risk factors of gout:
+ Gender: Most gout patients were male (99% in Vietnam), this may be
due to male lifestyle, diet high in protein, rich in purines, alcohol,
tobacco ...
+ Age disease: mainly seen in ages 30-50 (men). Postmenopausal women.
+ Drinking habits: relationship between alcohol and gout have been
saying since time immemorial, in beer there is a strong risk factor for
stroke with gout. Many studies have shown that 75-84% of patients with gout to drink alcohol regularly average of 7-10 years.
+ Obesity: Some studies show that people who are overweight, obese are
at increased risk of gout braided 5 times the non-obese patients.
+ Increased uric acid is associated with a number of other metabolic diseases: Diabetes mellitus, lipid metabolic disorders ...
+ Factor family: Do genes, and living habits, eating.
+ Due to the effects of some drugs to reduce uric acid by the kidneys,
uric acid metabolism disorders: thiazide diuretics, furosemide, aspirin,
anti-TB drugs as pyrazynamid ...
